Co-creation session with the community of Frádigas

September 6, 2021

In September 2021, design students and researchers from FA-UL facilitated a co-creation session with the Frádigas community. The session was hosted by ADIRAM and the event “À Escuta, Catálogo Poético”.

The session “Think the School, Make the Future” aimed to co-create future scenarios of use for the building where the village school used to be. Although it is currently abandoned and neglected, the community of Frádigas had a solid desire to (re)make it into a space full of life. Participants debated and launched ideas about how they wanted to use the space and materialized their vision for the building through sketches, diagrams and three-dimensional constructions. Results from the session will be part of the briefing for the architecture and design project that will requalify the school.

The session was the field activity of the Workshop ‘Making Things Happen – An Introduction to Design for Social Innovation’.
