Interaction, Mixed Reality and Music: Interactive System for Musical Experience

Abstract
Music is important to any culture and society. However, in the face of pandemic restrictions, several musicians were left without one of their main sources of income, concerts.
Our goal was to create a digital interactive system that incorporated a concert agenda for musicians and concert halls at a national level and that allowed its broadcast via live streaming and mixed reality. This would enable both musicians and venues to continue working, even if in different ways, and allow assistance to those not able to attend shows.
We conducted literature review and a case study to frame the development of such a system. We developed an interaction design project, based on the concept of mixed reality and evaluated the interactive flow of the system, its concept and content.
Our functional prototype allowed interaction beyond conventional means, between musicians and spectators, providing a closer relationship, and contributed to enjoying music.
