Imprint: Interactive Hybrid Proposal to reconfigure Print Media
Abstract
This research aimed to preserve print media importance in a digital everyday and contribute to their innovation by using non-evasive emerging materials and technologies. Print media can be augmented and increase multisensoriality and users/readers experiences through enhanced interactions.
We carried out a literature review, case studies and semi-structured interviews with experts on materials engineering, printed electronics and computer science. We designed an interactive experimental hybrid artefact – a scrapbook –, for which a prototype with simulated interactions was developed.
We have reached new knowledge that relates interaction design with printed media, pointing material and technological possibilities for the future.
