Joana Lessa
Phd in Design
Holds a PhD in Design by the Faculty of Architecture, Technical University of Lisbon, a master degree in Multimedia Technology by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto and a bachelor degree in Communication Design by the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto.
She is Senior lecturer of the Department of Communication, Art and Design, School of Education and Communication, University of Algarve.
Her research interests are in emotional design, multi sensory design, digital and interactive media, interaction design and UX, visualisation of emotion, cultural tourism and typography. She works in the intersection of design with different areas like psychology, music, engineering and education.
She occasionally publishes in international conferences and has been a member of scientific committees as well as post-graduation juris.
She has been recently nominated a member of the Advisory Committee (governing bodies) of the Water Museum Global Network – WAMU-NET (an UNESCO initiative) and also integrates the UNESCO chair in Ecohydrology of the University of Algarve, collaborating with expertise and research in design of Communication, interaction and multimedia.
